“Being Pentecostal”; Jim Gertmenian’s sermon, June 8

Jim Gertmenian preached Sunday, June 8, that Plymouth is a truly Pentecostal church: “Good news [is] spoken in such a way that each person can understand it in their own life without having to translate it.”

A part of the church that attracts attention today through the media is speaking an unintelligible language—sectarianism, dogmatism, homophobia, violence and anti-intellectualism. Here at Plymouth, we speak the tongues of justice, inclusion, peace—Shalom, universalism and love.

James Gertmenian, Senior Minister
